PayPal has announced they are launching a way for its customers to make payments on web sites that do not accept PayPal.

They offer a downloadable software utility that is called PayPal Secure Card. The utility automatically detects when a customer visits an e-commerce checkout page, generates a unique MasterCard number, and then helps fill out the payment form. This is done through a partnership with credit card issuer MasterCard Inc.

“From a merchant’s perspective this looks like any other MasterCard transaction,” said Chris George, director of financial products for PayPal. “And it’s just another PayPal purchase to the customer.”

Secure Cards work on Windows computers running either Internet Explorer or Firefox. Users of Apple’s Safari browser have only partial access to the service for now, George said.

Secure Card has been tested by 3 million PayPal customers in the past year. Mark ‘Rizzn’ Hopkins, one of them, tells about his experience:

You install and set up the software, and on your taskbar, you have a little PayPal icon. When you want to generate a random credit card number, you double click on it. A little “virtual credit card” pops up on your screen, complete with randomly generated MasterCard numbers, expiration date, and CVV. All payments made with the information are directly and immediately made from your existing PayPal account

The form fill seems to work decently in Internet Explorer, but if you’re a Firefox user, don’t expect it to fill out any forms. It has a Firefox plug-in that seems to do little more than really slow down the browsing experience (and I recommend removing the plug-in as soon as you install the application). It is, however, handy to have, especially for folks like me with a debit card so well worn that the CVV numbers are no longer visible.

The plug-in will be available to U.S. customers on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, with international customers to follow.

I recently researched the keyword toolbar in the Keyword Research and Suggestion Tool. I looked for some ideas on what people want to know about toolbars. Surprisingly, I found out that what a lot of people search for is, actually, information on how to uninstall, remove or delete a toolbar. So, I decided to put some instructions here on the blog to make life easier for those who need support with this.

How to delete, uninstall or remove VRE Toolbar

This one is the easiest to remove, because both IE and Firefox versions have the Uninstall menu item. This is why we never receive “how to delete VRE toolbar” questions.

But if you simply need some browser space, use the Hide option, so that you don’t have to re-install the toolbar when you need it again.

How to remove, delete or uninstall just about any IE toolbar, including Yahoo, Google or MSN

You can uninstall Internet Explorer toolbars through your Add/Remove Programs window:

Click the Windows “Start” button in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.

Select “Control Panel” from the “Settings” menu.

Double-click on “Add/Remove Programs”.

Scroll down and click on the unwanted toolbar entry. For example, “Google Toolbar for IE” or “Yahoo! Toolbar”.

Click on “Change/Remove.”

Close any open IE windows.

How to uninstall, delete or remove just about any Firefox toolbar, including Google, Yahoo, or AOL

You can use the Extension Manager in Firefox to remove a Firefox toolbar:

Click the “Tools” menu in the Firefox browser.

Click the “Extensions” menu item (“Add-ons” in Firefox 2).

In the Firefox Extensions Manager window, scroll down and click on the unwanted toolbar entry. For example, “Yahoo! Toolbar” or “Google Toolbar for Firefox”.

Click “Uninstall”.

Click “OK” or “Uninstall” in the confirmation window.

Exit Extension Manager. Restart your browser.

If this uninstall method doesn’t work for you, your Firefox user profile may be corrupt. You might need to create a new user profile for your browser.

That’s it. If you have a question about removing a toolbar from your browser, please, post a comment.

There are some related keywords below. I wanted them in this post (for search engines), but didn’t want a long comma delimited list, so I put them into this drop-down select box.

It’s One Of The Easiest Ways To Make Money Online!

What Is Pay Per Lead (PPL)?

The two monetization models that you are most probably already familiar with are:

Pay Per Click

Pay Per Sale (affiliate sale)

What Is Pay Per Click (PPC)?

You display PPC ads on your web pages. A visitor clicks on an ad. You make money per click. This is usually a small amount, mostly in cents.

The visitor’s action is clicking.

What is Pay Per Sale (PPS or Affiliate Sale)?

You display an affiliate ad/link for Product ABC on your website. A visitor clicks on the ad/link and is taken to Product ABC website. If the visitor buys Product ABC, you make an affiliate commission.

The visitor’s action is buying. It’s a cash-conversion action. The visitor has to buy in order for you to make money.

What about Pay Per Lead?

It is somewhere between these two monetization models:

PPC – PPL – PPS

Here’s how it works… very simple:

You display Pay Per Lead ads on your website. Visitors click on the ads and
are taken to the merchants/advertisers’ websites.

The merchant usually offers the visitor something valuable for free, in return for taking some form of action, which does not include buying anything. Pay-per-lead programs are generally designed to promote some type of free product or service.

You make commissions for every person who performs the non-cash conversion action.

Again, people do not have to buy anything in order for you to make money!

What Types Of Action Are Visitors Required To Take?

Here are some:

Signing up for a newsletter or opt-in list. Visitor signs up, you make money/pay-per-lead commissions.

Taking a poll or filling out a survey. Visitor participates in a survey, you make money/pay-per-lead commissions.

Supplying contact information like a name or email address. Visitor fills in his/her contact info, you make money/pay-per-lead commissions.

Filling a form. Visitor fills in a form, you make money/pay-per-lead commissions.

Joining a free program. Visitor joins a free program, you make money/pay-per-lead commissions.

Pay Per Lead Examples

Read my previous post about PPL for some Pay Per Lead Examples: #1 Alternative To AdSense And Affiliate Marketing

Pay Per Lead Power Ads System™ is the quickest and easiest solution for creating, managing and maximizing your revenues from Pay Per Lead ads!

Pay Per Lead Power Ads System™ is made up of three heavy-weight software solutions:

Pay Per Lead Networks/Programs Research Center

Pay Per Lead Ad-Units Creator

Pay Per Lead Keyword Ads Generator

No software to download, upload, install, update.

Manage everything from an easy browser interface. Complete, 24/7 control over your own account, via an online control panel.

One of the new features in Internet Explorer 7 is the search bar, similar to that of Firefox. You can add new search engines either from the respective browsers’ search engines pages (for IE7 and Firefox 2), or you can add a new search engine directly from a website that provides one.

This new feature allowed us to offer our most popular service, Yahoo! (Overture) Keyword Suggestion Tool, as a search service that you can add to your search bar.

How to Add Keyword Research To Your Search Bar

Click on the link above to open the keyword suggestion tool in a new window.

In Firefox 2, look at the search icon. You should see the icon glowing slightly.

Click the icon, and you should see the “Add Keyword Research” menu item in the dropdown menu. Select that item and that’s it.

In Internet Explorer 7, you should see the little arrow next to the search icon highlighted in orange.

Click it, and navigate to the “Add Search Providers” submenu, then select “Keyword Research”, and that’s all you have to do.

Now you can easily access the Yahoo! Keyword Research tool even if you don’t have the VRE Toolbar installed.

New features:

Refresh ToolbarReloads the toolbar’s content. Useful when you started the browser in off-line mode, and the toolbar was unable to load its content from the server.

Check For UpdateThis menu option will check to see if you’re using the newest version of the VRE Toolbar, and provides an easy way to download an update if you’re not. You must have an active Internet connection to use the Check For Update command. This is what you have to do now — download the latest version.

Firefox users: If you downloaded the toolbar from Firefox Add-ons website, than you have to wait until the newer version is approved by a Mozilla Update editor. This may take up to seven days or more. Want the latest version right now? Uninstall your toolbar, then download and install the latest version from this page:

Download VRE Toolbar for Firefox

Internet Explorer users: We decided to drop the built-in RSS reader in order to improve between-browser compatibility and performance. Also, while nice, it caused IE failure on some systems. Sorry, if you it was your main RSS reader. Please, save your feeds in another one.

New tools recently added per your request:

Nameboy domain name suggestions (use the toolbar’s search box to search for keyword related domain names)

HostMonster webhosting ($4.95/mo.)

Install For Me free script installation service (WordPress, phpBB, Article Dashboard or any other PHP, MySQL, CGI or Perl script)

Template Monster web templates (now they have WordPress templates too)

What’s in it for you?

Faster response to your requests, because the browser doesn’t reload the entire page, but only receives the information that was changed.

For example, when looking for a niche, you usually reload the Niche Generator page over and over again until you find a niche you like. With the new technology, it works much faster, because you don’t have to wait while the entire page reloads. You get another niche suggestion in a moment.

Tested with IE, Firefox and Opera. Let me know if it doesn’t work in your browser.

One of the most effective ways to develop your empire of niche websites is creating a virtual real estate neighbourhood of several VRE sites whose topics are related to each other.

Let me show you how to organize your virtual real estate empire with a beta tool from Microsoft Research Group. You’ll know how to structure your network of niche websites, and how you can easily find out your niche neighbourhood or related themes.

The secret tool we will be using is called MSRA SRC. MSRA stands for Microsoft Research, Asia. It’s the research group that developed the tool. And SRC stands for Search Result Clustering. It’s a technology to on-the-fly cluster search results into different groups, and provide meaningful and readable names for these groups. To access the tool from the VRE Toolbar, enter your keywords in the toolbar’s search box and click Ideas > MSRA Clustering.

Let’s pick some niche to explore it’s related themes. The Random Niche Generator suggested ‘Picnic Tables’ niche for this article. Type picnic tables in the toolbar’s search box and select Ideas > MSRA Clustering.

If you don’t have the VRE Toolbar, you can access this tool here: MSRA Search Results Cluctering. Note, that it works better in IE. For example, expanding/collapsing of groups doesn’t work in Firefox browser.

Take a look at the results in the left side frame called Result Map:

Let’s group the results slightly differently. We want to separate them into two groups. We’ll put those that contain ‘picnic tables’ in the first group. This is what our main website will be about.

picnic tables
wood picnic tables
cedar picnic tables
recycled plastic picnic tables
folding picnic tables
concrete picnic tables
round picnic tables
octagon picnic tables

The remaining key phrases give us some ideas about what related websites we can build around our main site:

outdoor furniture
park benches
picnic benches
patio furniture
plastic lumber
picnic baskets
adirondack chairs
chaise lounge

Each of these phrases is a related topic to build another website. When you’ve built your main website, you just type a related phrase in the toolbar’s search box and click Ideas > MSRA Clustering again to get start it over for your next site. For example, one of the related topics for ‘picnic tables’ is ‘picnic baskets’:

And that’s not all! There is the right frame of the search results. When you click on the term in the left frame, the right frame shows websites related to the term. You can visit them for more information about your niche, to exchange links, submit articles and setup joint ventures with them.

It’s easy to organize your virtual real estate empire with the VRE Toolbar and Microsoft Search Result Clustering.

Now it’s your turn. Type your niche theme in the search box and click Ideas > MSRA Clustering. Take Action!

P.S. The term VRE Empire was coined by John Reese. You can read more about VRE Planning and Stategy in the May 2006 issue of The Reese Report.
